Black boots - River Island via ASOS (pink version here)
Today's look is quite a casual one; I feel that whenever I take blog photos I should dress up, wear my best clothes and latest purchases, meanwhile forgetting about the old gems in my wardrobe. My clothes tend to pile up in my wardrobe which is really bad because sometimes I forget about what I have, I need to get rid of half the stuff that's in my wardrobe but I just can't bring myself to have a proper clear out, maybe for spring? Anyway, today I decided to wear some pieces that I don't pick out often to see what happens and this is the result...
This coat is a few years old and consequently too big for me now but I love the way it looks, the checkered print makes it different to my usual plain coloured coats and the large silver buttons and military style shoulders are a great statement. I've been wearing a lot of black and white this winter and although monochrome is always a faultless look, it can get boring after a while so I like to add a pop of colour. In this look I achieved that with my jeans. As pastel tones are going to be big in the spring/summer I'm looking forward to styling these jeans again in the warmer months!
I wore these black boots which are my new love! They will definitely be making many more appearances on my blog because I love them so, so much. I used to shy away from anything with a heel because I'm quite tall and just end up feeling uncomfortably tall next to my friends so I've always looked for boots with absolutely no heel (which is so hard to find!) but when I saw these I just couldn't resist and thought they'd look great on my blog. I really love them now and don't care about being tall, I'm learning to embrace it thanks to my blog. My handbag is my everyday essential bag, which has basically been the only bag on my blog, I guess I should think about changing it up a bit.
I was also lucky enough to be sent some items from BANK fashion and this Tshirt was one of them; it's from a new brand called Black Score that has just launched on the BANK fashion website which you can find more of here. It has a really cool image on the front and "COMME as you ARE" slogan. It's a really cool slogan Tshirt which I have already worn a lot, even though it's winter, and am sure I'll get much more use out of too.
I wore silver jewellery with this look; a pair of small silver hoops from a jewellers in Portugal and silver Primark rings. I never used to wear silver because I prefer gold but I've bought so many silver rings and a few necklaces which I'm loving but I can't seem to find the perfect pair of silver hoops.. and I love my hoop earrings! Let me know if you know of anywhere that sells any, I've tried Primark/New Look/ River Island/H&M and had no luck.
Photos were taken by my good friend Maria from Maria Marmite.
Let me know what you thought of this look. Leave me any comments below :)
