I was recently contacted by Sunset Chic and challenged to style up one of their tunics for a day time look, i.e. not as beachwear which would be the obvious choice. I actually did find this a challenge as I was completely lost with how I could style it. Luckily, the weather was lovely during the bank holiday weekend so I managed to take some photos and get my legs out! Having rummaged through my wardrobe and found some pieces which I thought would look nice together and here is the result...
I went for a predominantly white undertone with this look because it's a pretty easy colour to style although you have to be cautious in order to avoid any dreaded stains! But these shorts are a new addition to my wardrobe, I was saving them for summer but thought they'd look nice with this look. They're high waisted but I have that problem where they fit very tightly around my thighs and bum but then around my waist there's a gap - so annoying! But these aren't too bad so I can just about deal with it.
I wore a white crop top underneath the tunic as it's very sheer. The tunic is the usual long length but for an every day look I tied it up at the waist so it looks more like a top; if you don't want to tie it up then you could easily just tuck it into the shorts and it's a cute finished look in my opinion. I then added a navy chunky knit cardigan to give a little contrast to the blue tunic. I also let the tunic sleeves come below the cardigan so you could see the pearls through the sleeves too which I think looks really nice.
I opted for white converse to keep with the white, summery, look and my usual black bag - I need a new one, I feel like I use the same one in every single post... I wore my fedora which I love and these round sunglasses which I think are so retro; they add style to any look. For jewellery I went for minimal silver as the detailing on the tunic is so intricately placed and looks beautiful on its own so I didn't want anything distracting from it.
What do you think of this look? How would you style a tunic when not on the beach?
