Today's post is a different type of post that I am so excited about; I keep seeing posts on interior design and room decor and I just can't help but be influenced by them all which has led me to finally fill some frames I've had lying around forever. As you know I'm at university and I'm always trying to make my room feel more like home; these are a few of my favourite bits in my room but there is still so much more I want to do!
I think you can tell from this little snippet (yep, that's literally the only bit of my room I'm completely happy with haha!) I'm into the whole white trend, having everything look really sleek and with a white finish just looks so classic and really effortless. It's funny because I shy away from wearing a lot of white but I think it's such a harmonious colour and can really put your mind at ease. I think my favourite piece has to be this stag head that just ties everything together - I love it - and it's so useful, it keeps all my jewellery neatly in place. By the way, can you tell I love gold? Haha! I got my hands on a few printables and put them in my photo frames to be a little different I suppose, let me know if you'd like to see my favourite printables or something along those lines as it's something I really enjoyed doing.
I collaborated with Betta Living to create a wishlist of things I could add to my room to create the kind of space I'd love, and here they are:
(L-R) 1. Storage boxes // 2. Desk chair // 3. Mirror // 4. Lantern // 5. Lamp // 6. Glass jars (1, 2, 3, 4) // 7. Photo frames (1, 2) // 8. Pineapple // 9. Stag head // 10. Flower plate
These are lovely minimalistic pieces that I think would fit in perfectly with any room decor, they'd definitely suit right into my room. My favourite piece has got to be the chair, it's so beautiful! I love that it's so minimal yet has such a beautiful design, add a heart shaped pillow to it and it'll make you fall in love with a room! I also love the glass jars, there were so many to choose from, I love the idea of having them all placed by each other holding your pens, rings, makeup brushes, anything really (fill them up using sand or pebbles to keep things standing) and one is even shaped like a sundae; life = made.
Betta Living sells a lot of designer items which are on the pricey side but the pieces I have chosen are all mostly under £50, apart from the mirror, that was definitely my splurge item because it's just so beautiful! Also, I think when it comes to room decor you need to think a little more on the long-lasting side of things. The frames I have at the moment are from Poundland and they're falling apart and just look and feel cheap so if you're going for a complete revamp then you may as well go for those items you know will be durable in your home. Trust me, learn from my mistakes. If you have the chance to check out the Betta Living website then have a look at their bedrooms *swoon* this one is my favourite.
What's your favourite decorative piece?
