Idol Hotel, Paris

Paris, France
idol hotel paris review
I decided to end this week with a hotel review, I'm trying to make the most of being in France at the moment and really want to share more of France, mainly Paris, but admittedly it has been quite hard to do and sort of scary given the recent events.

It was my birthday last week, I'm now 21 and just feel old. I'm definitely not your typical 21 year old, I'm really over the whole party scene (not sure if I was ever really in it). I stayed in Paris from Tuesday until Thursday at Idol Hotel which is a quirky, music themed hotel in Rue d'Edimbourg.

I actually stayed two nights - my auntie and uncle surprised me at the hotel and part of their extensive plan was to get me there a night early - so I not only have one, but two rooms to share! We were offered the chance to stay in the same room for both nights but I thought it would be nice to be able to experience two different rooms seeing as they're all different themes.

The first night we stayed in the Jungle Fever room which definitely had some jungle vibes with the wallpaper, we had the love package where you get rose petals on your bed and a bottle of Champagne too. This room was really spacious, a very large - possibly king size - bed and all the typical hotel amenities ranging from a coffee machine to TV. The great thing about this hotel was their sound system, as it's a hotel dedicated to music each room had a bluetooth sound system which was amazing. I was blasting out Justin Bieber for a good few hours not gonna lie! There were some really quirky details too like the phone, have you ever seen anything like that?! And room service was a record which was very fitting with the hotel theme. In this room we had a shower room which was pretty big but entirely red which personally I didn't love but it's only a bathroom so the colour scheme really isn't the most important in my opinion.

For our second night we moved into Give Me The Night which was on the top floor of the hotel and faced the main road, although the view was only of Parisian rooftops that had to be one of my favourite views. The staff were so lovely and the girls went ahead and decorated my room for my birthday with 21 balloons, so thoughtful! They were also kind enough to move our bags from our previous room to the next whilst we were out for the day. I think this theme was far more modern, still retro looking with the wallpaper but it wasn't so in-your-face as green and red.We had a separate toilet and shower room and we also had a bath in the bedroom area with ambiance lighting which was lovely, the lighting definitely makes it a sexy tub! I wish I had taken some bubble bath with me as a bubble bath would've been amazing! Also, the beds were some of the most comfortable beds I have slept in in a very long time!! I'd say that's one of the most important things when staying at a hotel, we had a great nights sleep.

We also had breakfast on both days which included continental (croissants of course) as well as scrambled eggs and sausages so not a lot in terms of English breakfast but I'm not too fussed about that as long as there are pancakes around, which there were! The staff were so lovely during our stay and although it's quite a small hotel in comparison to others I have stayed in, it's just so much nicer to feel as if you get to know the staff. During the day the girls were lovely and always happy to help, and in the evening the gentleman was very polite and kept hold of our suitcases until really late in the night on the day we left.

If you're looking for somewhere quirky to stay in Paris then I would highly recommend the hotel, it isn't for everyone but if you're a music lover then this is for you!
