New NYX Counter(s)
Last week I went to High Street Kensington and spotted a poster announcing the launch of a NYX makeup counter at Boots. Needless to say it didn't take me much longer to get my hands on some products. I've got a few lip products from NYX as I was after the liquid lipsticks, I was actually looking for the lingerie ones but I couldn't find them, maybe they're a U.S. exclusive or something? I picked up three shades which all look so similar in the tube but they're all definitely different (I can assure you I swatched these before buying and they all looked different!)
Soft Matte Lip Cream
I picked up two of the soft matte lip creams but believe me, I could have picked up so many more - the colour range was huge but I decided to pick out some nude shades to try out before buying any others. You may have seen the makeup consultation I had last week (I shared it on Snapchat, follow me there if you don't already: pee.xo) where I pretty much fell in love with a nude/pink shade and for that reason 12 Cannes instantly caught my eye and had to come home with me. Then I picked a much more nude colour, 02 Stockholm, which I don't love as much but still think it's a great nude for pale skin.
The only thing I'm not keen on is the smell, I've heard about the dreaded vanilla scent liquid lipsticks give off and at first I didn't really mind but rather than getting used to it, I find it bothers me more and more. However, it's not a scent that stays on your lips so I'm going to have to learn to live with it. I've worn these so much already - which is saying something as I've only had them for about 4 days - even attempting the food test. Results? It lasted pretty darn well, it did wear a little bit in the centre of my lips but the thing I'm most excited about is the fact that re-application is a dream! No patchy areas where you can tell you've applied another layer, it glides on seamlessly and that gets a big tick in my books. Finally, packaging, the tubes are smaller than your average but I think they're still a good size, perfect to pop into your handbag, I mean, how often do you finish a lipstick or gloss?
They're £5.50 available from Boots.

Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick
I believe this is a new release from NYX, there were a few dedicated stands for the product and it instantly caught my eye being described as suede. I'm not too sure about how much I like this, I wore it over the weekend and I found it super drying and it almost felt as though it sat in all the wrong places. I don't know about the whole suede effect either, it might be a bit gimmicky rather than actually give off a different finish. It's one I need to try a little more and get used to it.
I only bought one which was in the shade 04 (I don't think it has a name) which is a brown-nude, I don't have anything like it in liquid lipstick form so I was excited to try it out. I'm not majorly convinced on the whole liquid suede thing but it's one to keep trying.
They're £6.50 available at Boots.

Any more recommendations?
They just launched where I live too and I've been eyeing the soft creams especially in Cannes.

DeleteSo glad nyx is becoming widely available here in the UK, I really need to try the soft lip creams! Try the glosses, I have one in 'tiramisu' and its lovely!

Same! Oh really?! I never typically gravitate towards glosses but I pretty much want to try all things NYX, I've got one of the dark shades now and can't wait to try it to compare the nudes with the dark colours X
