Summer in the city has to be one of the most difficult styling situations for me; don't get me wrong, I'm happy the sun is shining and the days are longer but it's just so tricky to dress right! Despite being born and bred in London, every summer I have gone to Portugal for as long as four weeks and I think that's mainly why I feel the need to dress differently in London. Holiday dressing and summer style are two completely different things for me - please don't tell me I'm the only person who thinks this?!
I live in jeans but have been avoiding them throughout the summer as it's just too hot and I hate the sticky-denim feeling, so when I spotted these loose khaki trousers I knew they'd be great for the warm weather in London, they're so breathable and look super stylish too! And then I went for the ground-breaker: a crochet bralet. Never in a million years would I dream of picking this up and wearing it in London, I wore it in Crete and had it tucked away ready for Portugal but something came over me and I picked it out thinking it would look amazing with these high waisted trousers and, I love it. Yes, I went for the safe option and put on a jacket but I think this is perfect for an evening - a super easy way to change your summer look from day to night - or if you're daring, there's nothing to say this can't be your day-time look.
