Today's post features 2 different takes on the heritage trend that continues to take over the high street. There's an array of blazers available at the moment and I quickly jumped on the trend. I've been loving the casual way of wearing a blazer but I also wanted to go down the traditional route and create two improvised Prince of Wales check suits. I haven't posted a day-to-night look in forever, I hope you like my take on this trend!
Before we go any further, can we just talk about this Tshirt? I absolutely love it! I spotted it whilst browsing on the New Look website and I simply couldn't resist; I was born in 1994 so this was more than perfect for me. I snapped it up pretty quickly but admittedly, it has sat in my wardrobe for a good few weeks before getting its first outing - at long last - today.
I styled it like this because I've really loved seeing the juxtaposition between a really casual piece and a traditionally more formal one like a blazer.

My first suit is quite casual. This is the most similar to the way I've been styling my blazer over the past few weeks as I've gone for the more casual approach to styling it. You can of course just pick up a ready-made suit so to speak but I really didn't need to seeing as I already had so many similar pieces in my wardrobe. With that said, creating an improvised suit can be somewhat tricky when you don't have the exact same print or colour to pair together.
I've had this skirt since spring so as soon as the Prince of Wales check came in with a bang I had this outfit in mind. This was one of my London Fashion Week outfit ideas but I didn't end up wearing it for some reason (probably because the thought of still having to shave my legs post summer is just too much to handle). This can be dressed up so easily with a change of top and heels but I went for the casual approach for a daily look.

I added a red lip which can only mean one thing, I'm ready for the evening. My red of choice is one of the Rodial suede lips in the shade Rodeo Drive, the most perfect red and so long lasting!

In a way, my evening look still has some casual aspects like my black ribbed top; I love this kind of top so much - I think they're the most flattering basic to have and if you haven't got one yet then you need one! The one I'm wearing is from New Look but I've spotted similar on Topshop here, ASOS here and Missguided here. This time, I paired my blazer with some flared trousers from Quiz Clothing. These are so out of my comfort zone and I've never been inclined to buy a pair but again, I picked these out for fashion week and didn't end up wearing them that week. The Prince of Wales check print isn't identical to the blazer but I still think the two go hand-in-hand and actually, I quite like the way they look and I definitely feel like a sassier version of myself wearing these trousers.
With this suit option I picked out some suede black heels with a scallop edge for added smartness and a small bag from Topshop to house all my essentials. I wouldn't necessarily wear this for a night out but I think it could be a gorgeous look for a dinner or drinks with friends and possibly even a trendy work piece? I don't work in an office environment myself so I'm not really sure about the in's and out's of workwear but I think I would wear this on a Friday, everybody always talks about that Friday feeling and I'm certain that this outfit would give me just that!
