Last weekend I took a trip to a pumpkin patch and it was pretty amazing, I'm not even exaggerating. I've wanted to go to a pumpkin patch for a while and as soon as we reached October and autumn mode kicked in, the search began. Not knowing what to expect (photos can be deceiving) we set off on a mini road trip to probably the best place ever and a must-visit this month if you can.
I came across Foxes Farm Produce and managed to convince my friend (and our mums) to make a day of it so we could see what the fuss was all about, and to fulfil my Instagram wishes. We woke up early Sunday morning and drove to Basildon, Essex to find this pumpkin patch. Obviously it's quite hard to find this much nature in the heart of London but an Instagram search later, I came across two pumpkin patches that were relatively close, one in Kent and another in Essex.
This isn't a typical pick your own farm but rather just acres of land covered in bright orange pumpkins (and white and black and red - but none of those stand out as much as the orange ones do). It's not a very British thing but it's something I've wanted to do for a while and as soon as October came knocking, I went looking for pumpkins! I had never been to a pumpkin patch before but was desperate to go and it did not disappoint!
My outfit was really casual, like it needs to be for something like this, but I really love it. I wore a super cosy off-white jumper which fits beautifully, is so flattering, and has some really incredible sleeves going on! I actually can't wait to wear this jumper in a less casual way, it can be quite hard to find knitwear that is smart enough for evenings but this New Look jumper hits the nail on the head in my opinion. I have a new bad habit of buying the same thing in different colours so I'm eyeing up the darker version of this jumper... you'll probably see it soon (I'm pretty sure I'll cave!)
The rest of my outfit is really simple, my go-to pieces on a daily basis. My ASOS Farleigh jeans, these are the harley flat blue wash, paired with a brown belt and my trusty Converse of course. My trainers got pretty dirty but they're leather so I just threw them into the washing machine and they're back to being good as new. I also borrowed Stephanie's sunglasses for some photos, they're from H&M and I really like them!

We had so much fun and came home with far too many pumpkins than either of us needed. Stephanie and her mum took home 4 whilst my mum and I brought home 5. Admittedly, 3 of those were for cute decorative purposes but we've still ended up with much more pumpkin than we will ever need. As a result, we've been finding lots of new recipes to use them up! So far, we've made a pumpkin pasta bake (wasn't great, probably won't attempt it again), a pumpkin loaf and pumpkin arancini balls which were divine!
Gather your family and friends and head to a pumpkin patch, it's such a nice day out, the photo ops are amazing - a very important aspect for us bloggers - and enjoy!
