Last week I attended a beautiful event with Monsoon to get me in the Christmas gifting spirit. This week is pretty much all about gifts for me as I'm working on my gift guide videos and planning other Christmas content surrounding the season of giving so it couldn't have been a more perfect time! Wearing a full Monsoon outfit for the occasion, I spent the evening giving calligraphy a go and picking some gifts with my mum in mind.

I popped in to Monsoon on Oxford Street and like a magpie was instantly attracted to all the sequins and sparkles that filled the shop front for Christmas. I tried to refrain from being too caught up in the glitz and glam and delved in a little deeper where I came across knitwear, coats and all of the winter warmers. But then this gem of a dress caught my eye...
You know about my love for midi dresses right? So when I spotted this gorgeous emerald green design with hints of blue I knew this was the perfect festive dress for me. Currently, Monsoon is offering up to 30% off party wear and this dress is included so you can bag it for less! It's quite an unusual fit but I was drawn to the velvet texture and the colours together are just so beautiful! I was a little worried about the fit of it but actually, a size 8 fit me perfectly. The material falls down really beautifully too and this would hide a multitude of sins *read: mince pies* and that works for me!
For a formal do I would wear a pair of heels but for our evening of calligraphy, nibbles and gifting I thought ankle boots would work much better. The boots are available in two colourways, blue and black. I actually really loved the blue version of these but they sadly didn't have my size in store so I opted for the black, equally as beautiful and I'll probably get more wear out of them too. Of course I wouldn't even dream of going out without a coat now because it has gotten so cold so quickly so I picked out this gorgeous camel coat (also available in black) to keep me warm in the evening because baby, it's cold outside.
The whole idea behind our evening with Monsoon was the art of gifting. The art being our attempts at calligraphy (which is so beautiful when done right) and these gorgeous hand painted boxes which are simply stunning and I know I'll keep for a very long time. I went with my mum in mind and knew I'd be picking out some beautiful gifts for her to treasure this winter. Monsoon put out a gorgeous selection of gift ideas ranging from accessories to keep warm throughout the colder months and home decor to fill your home with thoughtful gifts.

The evening was the perfect excuse to start thinking about festive dressing! I absolutely love dressing up and any excuse to do so is fine by me. So of course, with Christmas in mind I picked an outfit fit for an evening of festivities including gift picking, giving and more. Whilst I wasn't very good at the artistic side of things, my attempt at calligraphy was somewhat poor, I think my gifting skills are very much on par with what Christmas is about. Giving thoughtful gifts to the ones you love, whether that be to family or to friends, is a memory to treasure.

And so, for my mum I picked out a candle because my mum loves having candles burning at home during the winter, then came a pair of leather gloves to help keep her warm when it gets cold, followed by a gorgeous passport cover for her love of travel and finally, a beautiful photo frame to showcase treasured memories at home. Packaged with love and tied with a bow, my gift is ready to be given to my mum this Christmas.
Who will you be sharing the art of gifting with this Christmas?

DeleteYour dress is so beautiful, I'm absolutely in love with Monsoon right now! Their outerwear is incredible (I took snaps wearing a military jacket of theirs) and I have my eye on a cape! This is such a sweet idea, I know my mum would love gloves.
