The UK has definitely been playing us with snow storms, cold weather and days of rain - naturally, on the day I post this it's raining. So as April nears its end (how has so much of this year gone by so quickly already?!) I'm hoping that the mini heatwave we had last week is a sign of what's to come and not the end of the British summer... With that said, I felt like it's about time to share the five things I'm most looking forward to this Spring!
SHOP THE POST:
1. Wisteria Hysteria
You can probably tell by this post and my Instagram feed that I'm obsessed with the spring blooms. Whenever and wherever I spot some, whether they be cherry blossoms or magnolia, I'm quick to stop and capture them (and if I'm with someone I'll also make sure we take some typical blogger photos taken in front of them too!) Wisteria hasn't quite reached its peak but it's oh so slowly getting there and within the next couple of weeks it should be out in all its glory. Although my hayfever has definitely kicked in and for some reason much more aggressively than in previous years so that has been the downside of the beautiful blooms.

2. Neutrals
This spring I've well and truly fallen for neutrals! I've been wearing so many whites and nudes recently which isn't usually my colour palette but this year it has stuck and I'm really keen on it. I've been particularly loving white dresses, the LWD has even taken over my LBD.

3. Spring Cleaning
I know not everyone loves this but personally, I love giving my space and clutter a total refresh! It's good to detox your wardrobe, organise your cupboards and drawers and get rid of what you no longer use. I'm guilty of constantly accumulating various different things and never actually throwing anything away, so when I get the chance to put aside some time and just get rid of what I don't use or need - it's such a relief! Not only that, I find that when I set myself the task of spring cleaning I rediscover old gems that sat at the back gathering dust throughout the long winter we've had.
A little tip I've learnt along the years is to wait until you've done your spring cleaning before you shop for the upcoming season. That way you won't end up with 10 near-identical white Tshirts because you forgot about the 5 you bought last year.

4. Injecting Prints
Not only do we have the traditional pastels and florals to look forward to this spring (I'm sure that's no surprise) but also an array of different prints. My personal favourite this year has been leopard print! OMG I couldn't be happier about seeing leopard print plastered all over the high street - it's without a doubt a guilty pleasure of mine.

5. Longer Days
The longer days make a huge difference to my work life, it probably sounds ridiculous to many but just the thought of only being able to shoot until about 3pm in the winter (and that is if it's a good day) is enough to have me stressing out over shoot days for weeks in advance. So knowing that I have more hours in the day to get work done and shoot new content is a relief. I've been able to create so much more content that I'm happy with which has been great for both my blog and Instagram!
But of course it isn't just about being able to shoot from the 'gram (which sounds so trivial when put in to words). Thanks to the longer days I've just done so much more, especially on weekends.
Such beautiful photos - you look incredible! I have to say that the lighter nights are my favourite part of spring cleaning. xx

Thank you Jessie-Ann! I totally agree xx
DeleteI love everything about Spring - the flowers and blossoms (like the blossoms in your outfit photos), plants, bushes and trees all turning green, the birds chirping and singing, the moderate temperatures, the longer days, and the Spring fashions.
ReplyDeleteI love that dress!!!!!! It's very pretty, and you look very pretty wearing it!
