Garden parties, weddings and christenings - just a few of the occasions that pop up more often when the sun starts to shine and the weather gets warmer. If, like me, you try to avoid wearing jeans as often in the spring time, it can be difficult to find the perfect replacement for jeans and a nice top which is a go-to for so many of us throughout winter. So this is my take on an alternative option for spring.

In my opinion, a jumpsuit is the perfect piece to fill this void. It's one piece that you can wear in multiple different ways: layered with a Tshirt underneath for a more casual look, paired with sandals for a holiday or accessorised with bold jewellery and heels for a night out. However you choose to wear yours, it will almost always look different and suit a different occasion.
The jumpsuit I'm wearing would make a perfect occasion wear piece for a garden party or any other upcoming smart/casual affair you may have. I love this jumpsuit and think all the little details on it are gorgeous: the ruffle detail on the shoulder, the button detail on the front of the jumpsuit with the v-neck cut and an open back tied up with a bow. It's from *Miss Selfridge making it both an affordable piece and easy to get your hands on too!
Rather than dress up this jumpsuit completely (because in my opinion, it's quite a dressy jumpsuit in itself) I decided to draw on some casual aspects. Starting with my shoe choice, espadrilles. A classic when the weather gets warmer and boots are no longer on the cards, these are super simple, versatile and work well with so many outfits throughout spring. I also think a wedge is the best option when it comes to garden parties - with a stiletto heel for example, you risk your heel constantly digging in to the grass and getting stuck. To add another element of spring to my outfit, I chose a straw clutch to house my essentials. My clutch is from *Kate Spade, a few years old but a classic accessory.
