My favourite season is here! It feels bittersweet to be saying hello to autumn and goodbye to summer; I have tried my best to not wish the summer away but I can't help feel the excitement for a new season. Autumn is my favourite season for fashion: the ability to begin layering pieces and mix and match dresses with boots and coats with bare legs is magical. In celebration of the new season, I'm sharing three autumn trends to follow now, what to buy and where.
Boots
Honestly, I don't think it would be autumn without a pair, or multiple pairs, of boots in tow.
Ankle boots for me are magic, they have the power to boost my confidence and generally make me feel good. So naturally, I couldn't be more excited about the fact that boot weather has arrived.
The boots on offer this year are exceptional! I may be biased because I just love boots but I have seen so many amazing prints and styles available to us this season and I honestly couldn't be happier about it. Ankle boots are a classic in my opinion as are Chelsea boots, these are two styles that stay in my collection all year round. Popular styles this year include chunky boots, think Dr Martens styles, and knee high boots have been a huge hit too! Over the knee boots are always quite popular in autumn but this year there has been a surge in knee high boots, a slightly shorter style.
I've been pairing my boots with bare legs recently as I try to make the most of the end of summer and soon I'll be wearing them with an array of pieces, most likely an array of high waisted jeans to be honest.

Gold jewellery
I've always been a lover of gold jewellery and I couldn't be more excited to see so many new brands and pieces I love become so widely available. I love the aspect of layering come autumn and so, it shouldn't come as a surprise that I love layering my jewellery too.
It's all about the varying lengths for me, especially when it comes to necklaces. I love pairing a chocker style necklace with a longer one for a layered look - like I'm wearing in these photos - or pairing together different length chains for a sort of waterfall effect of necklaces.

Pistachio
The IT colour of the season is here. When I think of pistachio, I think of pistachio ice-cream and the summer but it is quickly becoming associated with autumn and winter too. Shades of green are notoriously popular at this time of year but usually deeper tones like emerald green and khaki, two autumnal favourites.
This year, the colour wheel has shifted slightly and lighter shades of green have become exceedingly popular despite the cold weather (which traditionally invites deep tones). I'm looking forward to introducing a lighter colour palette into my A/W wardrobe for 2019.
